In this discussion you are invited to consider and reflect upon either your best team experience, or your worst team experience. Your choice of experience to reflect upon can originate from any type of team that you have been part of (i.e., it can be but does not necessarily need to be a work or academic project team). In the initial stages of this discussion please briefly describe the situation/experience and be sure to include any relevant context that might help those in your group more fully understand your experience. Please also be sure to discuss the characteristics, attributes and/ or features that made it a best or worst experience In this forum, and any subsequent rounds of discussion, you should also make connections to relevant areas of Chapter 8 content. Some suggested areas to consider may include, but are not necessarily limited to: The distinction between group and teams and/ or Tuckman's five-stage model of group development Task and maintenance roles, whether (or not) they were attended to, and the importance of striking a balance between task and relationship when it comes to teaming. Team types and the nature of their interdependence The identified keys to team effectiveness and/or the characteristics of high performing teams. As with all our discussion forums you are encouraged to build upon one another's ideas/ contributions as you apply the chapter's content and co-construct new knowledge of groups and teams.
