Conflict and Negotiations: American Civil War Human nature is a surreal and holistic aspect where amicability and disagreements are "twin" siblings. Humans interact in an unfathomable nature, and a better depiction of how social friendship and enmity exist is through societal outlook. According to Esquivel & Zheng (2021), equipping oneself with cultural competency aids in solving disagreements, specifically cultural and inter-societal ones. In addition, Avruch (n.d.) delineates that conflict is the outcome of imbalanced societal depiction. It is corroborative on a logical perception; for instance, culture is a solid societal element, and it is imprudent to coin it otherwise. One of the best examples of conflict and negotiation happened in my community. There was a senior person from the southern parts of America, Brazil, or Mexico; I am trying to remember. According to his culture and background, family and sports are the most important aspects of life, and living without them is a surreal irony. There was a day I commented that one could live without family or sports, especially football. The senior person was furious and tried to argue with me about the importance of family and sports, but I maintained my stand. For me, no love was lost since we were never that close or related. However, my friend consulted me about my disagreement with the senior person and advised me to apologize or make amends with the officer. Initially, I was adamant, but after giving it a second thought, I agreed to the advice. My friend offered to "mediate" between us and lead us into an agreement. Since then, we have been very close with the senior person; surprisingly, he is one of my best mentors. We plan to travel to his home country one day to "change" my perception of football and family love.
