Introduction to Written Analyses in this Course Read and follow the instructions contained in the Orientation to Writing Assignments For each of these analyses topics in the course you will analyze the assigned issues. Writing Style You will use the template given in the assignment to guide your analysis. These assignments are to be written in professional, formal language that will include appropriate vocabulary from the text. Summarize your analysis on the template and submit the finished template in Dropbox by the deadline listed in the syllabus. Your analyses will be evaluated using the rubric below. Content and Organization Supportive Evidence . . Rubric Used For Evaluating Written Analysis Assignments 8-10 points Easy to read and understand, well organized; flows smoothly from one idea to another content/answer accurately answers the questions Appropriate evidence from the text and/or videos is used to answer questions Clearly identifies main point and supplies specifics facts demonstrates full understanding of the material Text has correct grammar and mechanics. Word choice (vocabulary) is intentional and enhances the essays' meaning. 5-7 points Readable, but confused in places: showed some logical organization; provided only minimal answers to questions. Statements are not always backed up by information from the text and/or videos. Identifies the main points but not a lot of the key evidence. Does not demonstrate complete understanding of the material Word choice is mostly appropriate There are some grammatical and syntax errors 1-4 point Choppy and confusing: answers were shallow organization was difficult to follow; Little evidence of reading the text or analyzing information presented in videos. Lacks details/specific key evidence / support Demonstrates incomplete understanding of material Errors in grammar and word choice inhibit understanding of the essays Group Analysis: Types of Aggression For each example below, you will decide what type of aggression is illustrated in each example. The only options are hostile aggression or instrumental aggression. There is no other option, and it is not possible to be both instrumental and hostile aggression. For each of these items you also need to justify your choice by referencing the descriptions of the two types of aggression. Your analysis must be in full sentences. 1. The defendant broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment while she was asleep in bed. He then threatened to kill her if she did not agree to have sex with him.
