Is the "democratization of communications ... going to bring about the democratization of the world" ("Democracy in Cyberspace")? Is this perhaps too rosy of a view? Or should we not underestimate the potential power of the "interconnected estate" that the world has become, one in which any person with access is given a voice and the power to effect change?
