Question:
It has to do with using emotion in leadership, more importantly, the correct emotion in leadership. Of course, the base of the video is about viral communication, as it results to emotion, but there is a lot of truth to this idea in leadership. I do, however, like the comic presentation of these ideas. Pay particular attention to the anger part, and how it relates to your own leadership situations. Lets face it, we all get angry from time to time - the trick is about controlling it and moving it into a more positive light for your team. Think about how it relates to a boss/subordinate relationship.
One negative memory (from when I was in management) I will always carry with me is when I verbally showed my anger to my team. I do not remember what I said or even why I was angry, but I will never forget the looks on their faces. I will also never forget how horrible I felt for days, and even weeks, after. It took a long time for me to earn back my respect and trust from my team.
Please share your ideas on the video, and/or if you have experienced a similar type of interaction as I have.
