Jennifer was arrested and charged with possession and intent to sell methamphetamine. Police officers boarded a bus to question the passengers individually. The officers did not block the door, but were standing in the aisle. Jennifer told the police she had no baggage despite having been on the bus for several days. The officers spent five minutes talking with Jennifer after they noticed she was acting suspiciously. They asked to search her bag. Jennifer concented to this search.
The officers found a suspicious package in the bag and asked Jennifer to step off the bus. While standing next to the bus, the officers opened the package and discovered four pounds of methamphtamine. Jennifer denied ownership of the bag and everything inside it. The officers then arrested Jennifer. Jennifer's fingerprints were later found on the handle of the bag, but not on the package of methamphetamine.
Jennifer has come to our office to see if the evidence against her can be surpressed thus dismissing the case poseesion and intent charges.
