Normally our bodies remain in water balance by taking on and excreting water. An experiment was performed to determine the effects of drinking an isosmotic salt solution versus a hyperosmotic glucose solution on the water balance in our body. Randomly selected participants were randomly assigned one of the two solutions and urine osmolarity (mmol/L) of each participant was measured using a refractometer 30 minutes after drinking.
