In Unit 1 you learned how to determine whether a resource was reliable and reputable and how to best apply such a source of information to your everyday life. To reinforce this skill, you will apply this knowledge by researching and evaluating two different resources on one scientific topic. Pick a topic that is related to any field of science, such as chemistry, physics, biology, or geology, and think of a question that you would like to find an answer to. For example, “Is global warming causing more earthquakes?” Or “What is the best treatment for my allergies?” Once you have selected your question, answer the following questions in an APA style essay.

To complete this Assignment:

1. Identify the science question you would like answered and why you chose that topic.
2. Locate two resources about the scientific topic that interests you:
   1. one from a scientifically reputable resource and
   2. another from a questionable resource.

1. Write a brief summary for both of these two articles and an explanation of the differences between the reliability of these resources.
2. What characteristics make one more scientifically valid than the other? What criteria did you use to make your determination? Be sure to indicate which resource is the scientifically reputable resource and which resource’s reliability is questionable.
3. Present both your resources in APA format on the reference page. For help with citations, refer to the APA Quick Reference Guide.

• Your submission must be written in Standard English and demonstrate exceptional content, organization, style, and grammar and mechanics.
• A separate page at the end of your submission should contain a list of references in APA format. Use your textbook, the Library, and the internet for research.
• Be sure to include references for all sources and to cite them using in-text citations where appropriate. Your sources and content should follow current APA citation style. • Your submission should:

  • include paragraphs of introduction and conclusion;
