Question:
Police shouldn't involve with immigrants because they will be neglection their work, just if they catch an immigrant just talk to the border patrol so they can take care of it and do what must be done. I think it would be too much work and a waste of time for the police to have to enforce immigrant laws and they would be neglecting their real work which is to keep cities free of crime and help people.

After further thought to the immigration issue of having law enforcement agencies enforce immigration law my answer would have to be no in my opinion. Yes, it can benefit towards the immigration to assist in the process of having detained an individual before any immigration personnel arrive, but the time consumption and efforts it takes could be taking a sheriff or law enforcement entity out of their duties. Although, this may sound as the issue will continue, I believe that law enforcement have their sworn duties to and having that extra duty to assist can cause already the sworn officers to have some conflict into what their actual duty may be. In conclusion, local police agencies involvement in the enforcement of immigration laws can threaten the community policing efforts in general.
