Politicians make promises and promote certain ideas to get elected. Once elected, they must try to implement these policies. Campaign promises are not easily kept. Check ALL the answers that apply. Other politicians elected may not agree with them and they don't have the majority. to make something happen. No one expects politicians to be honest and follow through their ideas. There is no expectation from stakeholders that campaign promises have to be implemented. Because ideas and promises have to be costed and planned and sometimes they are unrealistic. Because the civil service doesn't have to listen to the politicians or pay attention to policies of Parliament, Legislature or City Council -- they have been doing their jobs for a long time, know best from their experience, and can say no. Politicians often learn information after election that means it is difficult to implement their policy ideas. Because once in government, politicians have to work within constraints and the available resources.
