Procedure: 1. Take a wooden block 2. Measure and note down the mass of the wooden block 3. Attach a string (~ 1 m) around the block and hang a 20g mass at the other end and let it fall over the table edge. Use a smooth supporter to keep the string parallel to the table top. The block should be moving along the table when released. If not add a small additional mass. Calculate the weight of the total attached mass. 4. Mark a point about 20 cm from the edge of the table (End point). Mark a second point about 50 cm from the end point (Staring point). 5. Place the wooden block somewhere between the end and starting point. Use the spring balance and attach it to the opposite side of the wooden block. And measure the force. Calculate the difference between the weight and the force recorded in the spring balance. 6. Remove the spring balance from the attachment. Place the wooden block (front end at the start point and release it. Measure the time for it to reach the end point.
