Purpose: Phasc 2 of your retail business venture project will build on the work done in Phase 1. You will proceed with Primary Research, compiling and analysing your findings. (5 variables of rescarch design). Structure: - A short introduction; describe to the reader 1. the Purpose of Phase 2 and 2. the Content of the report. - The body is divided into 3 parts: - Part 1: Research Design and Stakecholder Analysis. o In this section you will list each of the 5 components of Research Design (p. 96) you have planned for your Research Project. o You will list each element and describe why you chose which option. o You will determine from whom and from where you will obtain the answers to your remaining questions through interviews. One of the tools you will use will be the Stakeholders analysis as discussed in Lecture 7. You will use the template provided. You will also identify other sources of information, such as knowledgcable people who are not stakeholders. o You will identify who you will interview and the purpose, with the goal of doing a minimum of 2 unstructured and 2 structured interviews. - Part 2: Interviews: o You will describe the preparations done to proceed with the interviews. The textbook describes this step in detail. You will discuss the design of your questionnaire and provide a copy of each Questionnaire in appendix. o Each questionnaire will have a minimum of 8 questions. You will describe how the interviews went, including critiquing your approach, implementation, and the results. If you take notes during the interviews, attach them in an appendix. You will compile and structure properly the data gathered and evaluate its ability to answer some of the remaining questions identified in Part 1. - Part 3: Questionnaire: o You will use the Questionnaires tool to wrap up your primary research. o You will design one questionnaire aimed at your target market (i.e. the segment of the population that will be your main customers). o There will be a minimum of 8 questions, using a minimum of 3 types of scales for questions using the Rating and Ranking tools we discussed in class. o A minimum of 5 fully completed questionnaires (ie, responses collected). You will use the electronic email (survey monkey tool) for this. You will explain how you managed not to insert any biases in the selection process of respondents (refer to the RIDE program in how police officers stop drivers in a manner that clearly indicates that there was no biases (ie. all drivers are stopped or at a fix interval, e.g. 10 cars) to meet the justice requirements of fairness). This part has 2 components: •I What were the purposes (ie. questions to be answered or knowledge to be acquired)? •2 How was it done; structure and execution; with clear explanations required on the design of the questionnaire. A copy of your questionnaire needs to be attached in an appendix. - Part 4: Observation: o You will use the Observation tool to continue the search for knowledge/answers in the 2 arcas identified above. o There will be a minimum of I observations. This part has 3 components: 1.1.1 What were the purposes (i.e. questions to be answered or knowledge to be acquired) for cach type of observation? 1.1.2. How was each type of observation done: structure and execution; clear explanations required 1.1.3 Information found, presented in a manner that allows the reader to grasp the key points observed and their potential impact on your retail venture. - Part 5: Analysis and Conclusion of your Research: o In this section you will document the analysis of your research (1,0.Q) using Qualitative / Quantitative Techniques taught in the course. o Describe the information found, collected in a manner that allows the reader to grasp the key points observed and their potential impact on your retail venture. o You will need to use a minimum of 5 different graphics in the illustration of your data in addition to as many tables as required. Your raw data needs to be attached in an appendix in a manner that will allow the reader to consult it. A short Conclusion: Present your Recommendation for the Investor and overall knowledge acquired for Business Rescarch during this Project - A Bibliographical reference sheet for the literature research (on a separate sheet). - Appendices ("A" onward) as required. Not included in the word count. - The document nceds to follow the APA format. - I suggest your report be visually structured (i.e. section heading), and might include other tools (picture, illustration, table, graph, etc.). Make your reports interesting and appealing to read. It is quite possible that you will approach the maximum number of words allowed (5,000 words). Write your word number at the bottom of the page where your conclusion is located. Purpose: Phasc 2 of your retail business venture project will build on the work done in Phase 1.
