Robert is a specialist race-horse trainer and he wanted to buy a horse from Joe, who wanted to sell his horse to him. Joe was a farmer who did not have any special knowledge of horses at all. Robert, having seen the horse perform, believed the horse was a potential champion. However, during the course of negotiations, Robert asked Joe if he could inspect the horse as it must be in good condition. Joe said to him that the horse would make a brilliant race-horse. Robert and Joe agreed on the 5,750 price for the horse, but when it was delivered Robert discovered that the horse had a serious leg injury which made it useless as a race-horse.
