- In the customer sheet, I first used PivotTable in column H to find the probability of our customers being M, F, or N. Next, I used a formula in cell J2 to determine the age of each of our customers using their birth years. Next, I selected data in row J and selected "frequency chart", which allowed me to identify that our most typical customer is female between the ages of 21 and 25. This does not differ based on location, because the data is independent.
- Sales outlet ID 3, the location in Long Island City, is the most popular store location. To arrive at this answer, I selected row D (Sales outlet) and row M (Total Sales) and created a PivotTable that identifies the 'Top SALES OUTLET ID by cell count.
- I selected columns D and J together in the sales receipts worksheet and made a Pivot Table. The table shows that product number 36 is the most popular product across all of our locations.
- To calculate profitability, I used the function in M2 of the product worksheet, then I filtered the cells from largest to smallest. I found that the least profitable product, which is the one that I would discontinue, was the Snow Day Hot Chocolate.
- With data from the Sales Target sheet, I was able to make a table that listed the sales goals of each location. I was then able to put these sales goals up next to the actual values of each location by comparing the data from columns D and M.
- In the Product Worksheet, I selected 'UNIT OF MEASURE' and 'CURRENT RETAIL PRICE' and made a PivotChart out of them. The chart shows that '1lb' and 'single' (units of measure) have significantly higher retail prices than the others.
