Situation 2 = Security issue

The Country Director has left you an email about several recent security incidents in one of the field projects. He explains briefly that they have been unable to monitor the movements of vehicles through the Cluster because of the poor network. The team is working in new areas of the country as a result, last week one vehicle broke down in a notoriously insecure location and staffs were unable to get in touch for 5 hours. He asks you to address this urgently and to purchase new equipment if needed. What will you do to deal with this situation and how will you reduce the risk of this happening again?

Situation 3 = Logistic Humanitarian Preparedness

Elections in the neighboring country are about to happen in the next two weeks. Instability and riot during the campaign are likely to increase, with the potential risk of provoking an influx of refugees into the country. The Regional Humanitarian Coordinator is asking you to create & share a Logistic preparedness plan for a possible response.

Situation 4 = Partners Capacity Building / Donor requirement

ONL is the lead agency for a 4 years consortium project signed with the donor DFID. Under the coordination of ONL, 6 partners (2 International NGOs & 3 National NGOs) oversee the implementation of WASH activities.

The Funding Coordinator has called you this morning upset at the way this contract is being handled, particularly in terms of logistics. A mid-term contract audit team reported to the Donor several non-compliance with procurement procedures and are threatening to disallow major expenses on supply activities, or worst to cancel the contract if the situation is not rectified. What steps will you take to address this current situation? What actions can you take to improve and monitor partners' capacity in procurement activities?

Situation 5 = Project Exit and Closure

Oxfam in Gambella is planning to close one of the camp's operations. The camp's project office is fully operational now and the programme activities are ongoing with lots of assets, stocks, and inventories. The grant ends in 3 months' time.
