Question:
So, basically, I have to figure out the concentration ofacetylsalicylic acid in solution 50 mL sample. But, I'm unsure ofhow to calculate it.
I know molarity is moles / L, and I know how to get moles. But,I'm confused on diluting.
Initially we placed .325g of acetylsalicylic acid in a flask, and then added 10 mL of 1 M NaOH to let it boil. Then we took thatand transfered that to another flask and added water to dilute itto the 250 mL mark. Then we did a gravity filtration of only 10 mL.Then we pipeted 2 mL to the 50 mL flask and diluted that with .02 Miron (III) chloride.
So how does calculating the concentration of that work????
Is it still .325g / 180.16g = .00180 mol / .05 L = 0.0361M???
Do I just use C1 * V1 = C2 * V2? I still don't understand how to calculate this when it comes to boiling, and then only removing 2mL etc.
