Some law enforcement agencies mandate officers qualify with assigned weapons and off-duty weapons twice or four times per year. Currently TCOLE standards are once a year with a 70% to be proficient. If you are in charge of training, would you have officers qualify once or twice a year and would you raise proficiency upward to 80 % or 85% accuracy or more, or would you keep it as TCOLE has currency has it? Explain the reasons for your decision? Take in consideration the cost of ammunition, and mention other factors that will play a major role in your decision.
