Students will create a lesson plan for a general education classroom and modify it for a student with a disability. The 13 disability areas are located on page 6 of your text. This can be one that is created by yourself or someone else. Your lesson plan should be uploaded to Moodle and also bring a copy to class on November 15. The following should be include in your lesson plan: a. The overall lesson plan for the entire class. This should include: lesson objectives, CCS (Common Core Standards), a description of the lesson, assessment(s) given and next steps if the entire class does not master the content. b. Give a profile of the student - specifying what disability the student you are observing has. Please discuss the characteristics of the disability area. How does this interfere with their education? c. How is this individual accommodated in the lesson to meet their educational needs? How does this fit their disability area? What is/are the reason behind these accommodations? Are there other accommodations that could be done in place of what's being done? d. How is this student assessed? How is it structured to meet the needs of the student? e. If the student was not successful with the lesson, what will the teacher do differently the next time? Why?
