Question:
Study the accounting case and the conceptual work of accountability, and then answer the questions.
The accounting case:
A school has provided the four different reporting forms about social information
to its stakeholders during the year:
The annual performance report to the local government.
Monthly magazines about the school news. The magazines were sent to the
students, parents and the local communities.
Emails and phone calls to parents about their children's study progresses;
a social event occurred in the school and it has drawn extensive public
concerns. The school released a specific-theme report about this event to
the general public.
The conceptual work of Accountability:
In an accountability relationship, the accountor is to give an account to the
accountee on what the accountor did. If the accountor refuses to give an account
or the account is not satisfactory, the accountor would be sanctioned by the
acccountee.
Required:
(1) Define the concept of stakeholder.
(2) Who are the "accountor" and "accountee" in this case?
(3) What are the possible sanctions taken by each accountee?

categories as to "more formal", "formal", "less formal", and
"informal").
(5) Use this case to discuss differences between social accounts and
financial accounts?
