The Bible describes many charitable acts. Specifically, in the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells the Parable of the Good Samaritan and explains the role of charitable giving to Christians. He instructs us that everyone is our neighbor, even a stranger on the side of the road. Jesus spent his time on Earth with those who made others uncomfortable, so that we may see their humanity. His example of charitable giving is still a large part of our lives to this day, and the way that many nonprofit organizations are heavily supported.

Choose a specific way that donations are made to a nonprofit, whether that is cash, tangible goods, or an in-kind donation, and illustrate your choice with an example that has been in the news. Explain how the nonprofit entity accounted for the donation and whether it was permanently restricted, partially restricted, or unrestricted, and what that meant to the organization and its future use of the donation.
