Question:
The compare and contrast “business strategy” versus “military strategy” question in an academic conversation. 5) (Please re-read the question. It focuses on the advisability of using military terms in business). Examples of military/business jargon:
• Business intelligence.
• Rank and file.
• All hands meeting.
• Rally the troops.
• Leadership ranks.
• Chain of command.
You may have read of businesspeople who prefer not to use military jargon to describe business strategy for the obvious reasons. (In fact, this very week the news is dominated by coverage of military conflict). Some individuals I have heard address the topic state that they do not care for comparing business strategy to military strategy because of the connotations to war/violence. On the other hand, military and business strategy both have goals about gaining competitive advantage. Based on your readings of text and the PowerPoints, elaborate on when a business strategy would best.
