The figure below shows a Wireless HART multi-hop mesh network. The network hosts three control loops that are ordered by priority as follows.
Control loop 1: S1-Gateway-A1 (highest priority)
Control loop 2: S2-Gateway-A2
Control loop 3: S3-Gateway-A3 (lowest priority).
The nodes labelled as S1, S2, and S3 are the associated sensors while those labelled as A1, A2, and A3 are the associated actuators. Each sensor generates a packet periodically after every second. The network uses only two channels: channel 1 and channel 2.
