Al-Alam company is specialized in manufacturing 4 different products: P1, P2, P3, and P4. The company is pressed to devise a manufacturing plan for the next coming week. Each of the four products is manufactured through three departments: Assembly department, Finishing department, and Packaging department. Every week, 233 hours are available for packaging, 424 hours for assembling, and 508 hours are available for finishing. The amount of time (in hours) required per unit of product and per department is summarized in the below table 1. For instance, product P2 requires 0.80 hours as assembling in the Assembly department, 0.87 hours in the Finishing department, and 0.34 in the Packaging department. The four products are manufactured using the same raw material with 1500 units available each week. The necessary amount of unit of raw material required for each unit per product is listed in table 2. For instance, a unit of product P3 requires 1.91 units of raw material. A unit of each of the products P1, P2, P3, and P4 contributes 5.09, 12.72, 6.36, and 7.63 SR respectively to the company profit per unit (after subtracting the costs of raw material). The company sells as many products as it produces because of high demands on its products. For the coming week, the company has an order for 106 units of product P2. Formulate an LP that will maximize A-Alam's total profit. P2 P3 0.80 0.58 0.87 0.87 0.34 0.48 Table1 unit of time required by each unit of product and for each department Assembly Dep. Finishing Dep.
