The table below shows the top 40 grossing movies since 1985 by U.S. and Canada box office receipts, adjusted for inflation, as of August 2020. The gross is estimated based on how much the movie would have made if it had sold as many tickets in 2020 as it did when it was released. The year 1985 was the first full year of the PG-13 movie rating. Data are from Box Office Mojo.
