1) In this experiment, we will use two different field plates which are shown in Figure 2. We will start with the dipole (two-point) configuration. Place the dipole field plate with the conducting side facing away from the apparatus, as shown in Figure 3. Put the thumb screws back and tighten them to be snug against the plates.
