Today we face a broad number of issues that are complicating businesses ability to market their products. Whether the cause is related to race, gender, environment, animals, or any number of social issues, it has significantly impacted relationships between businesses and potential customers. Given the polarization in our society, discuss how certain "cause related marketing" messaging has impacted prospects for a chosen business. 

1. Explain who you believe is their target market?
2. How how have changes in the external environment impacted/changed their messaging?
3. How have these changes affected their acceptance by customers or changed their target customer within that market?
4. Do you feel these companies are sincere or simply "virtue signaling," meaning their support is just messaging not actual core beliefs?

This will take some thought. The market might be sports, retail, construction, etc. but you need to be specific about what it is, and use a specific organization as your example. Relate it through your eyes as well as someone else you may not agree with. How does it impact both? Is it positive, more likely to buy their product or use their service, or less?

 

This is my classmate discussion:

1. people who believe in gender neutral marketing are the target market for clothing brands reaching out to that part of the environment.
2. changing their social media platforms and websites shows it has gotten a little to biased, instead of being in between about both people perspectives.
3. It has widened their overall audience, but also has left the opposing side to reconsider their business towards them because it goes against their opinion.
4. I believe most clothing companies making these changes are in it for the money and attention they get for their brand. They see how the world is changing and successful businesses follow the trends and listen to the intelectual world.
