This week is a bit different. As you have seen from your readings, learning how to advocate for ourselves while emphasizing our accomplishments is difficult for a majority of women. It simply does not fit into the "polite, humble" image most are taught to portray. Thus, it is necessary to NOW become comfortable doing so in order to secure the job and confidently advocate for yourself. You learned in your reading that taking control of the interview starts the. minute you walk into the room. YOU have power and can grab it by simply having a prepared opening that will boost confidence and show the room that you are capable and prepared. Below you will find an exercise that is based on a hypothetical interview for your specific field. While you will be turning it in for credit, the most important part is that you take initiative to practice this on your own.
