This week's discussion question has three different options for your topic. YOU ONLY NEED TO DISCUSS ONE OF THEM.
1. Consider having analyzed the materials provided in State v. Mitchell as a detective in the case. Who did it? Why do you think so?
2. Choose either the role of the prosecutor or the defense attorney. If you playing the part of the prosecutor, outline a story: based upon the evidence- that demonstrates Brooke's deep affection for Leslie. If you are the defense attorney, outline a story: based upon the evidence- showing that Brooke was indifferent or hostile to Leslie. Either side chosen should consider the admissibility of the evidence intended to support their theory. Despite which side you choose, which side do you think is more compelling?
3. Either as the prosecutor or defense attorney, consider the relevance of the testimony that Leslie left her key on her bedroom table. What does this evidence help support? What are you doing when you are considering the relevance of Leslie's keys (hint: think about how it supports one of the disputed facts of the case in favor of the defense.
