Time has moved on, and Peg's trial is now behind her.  Unfortunately, she lost.  In fact, the judge ordered her to pay $250,000 in damages and court costs as a result of the lawsuit, mostly because the court found that Peg had disparaged the reputations of both Edward, the landscape artist who created the dinosaur topiary, and the Scissorfist Lawncare Service that employed him.

But Peg is a good sport about it and has returned to your law office; she understands that no blame for the lost case belongs on the law firm.  Peg really cannot afford this additional post-trial expense; it's enough that she believes that she is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.  And of course, she's worried about how Bill is going to react -- if he figures out what happened.

Joyce does not handle bankruptcy matters.  So she referred Peg over to Helen, the law office's bankruptcy attorney.  Both Joyce and Helen want you to continue on with helping Peg because the two of you have a good working relationship.  Both Helen and Peg want you to help by using bankruptcy petition preparation software to create the needed forms for Peg's benefit; Helen will review them for legal sufficiency after you prepare them.

Visit at least one of the bankruptcy petition preparation software websites (e.g., Legal Forms Document Templates, LawStack, Upsolve or any other commercially available options).  Learn about its pros and cons.  Assume that your law firm uses it for all of its bankruptcy cases.  Then be creative as you supply relevant hypothetical information about Peg's situation in a way that replicates what that software could do to help her to organize her case information better.

Complete a succinct technical analytical report (no more than three ), using the provided template.  Identify your source material, as appropriate, and use Bluebook citation style

  1. Provide an overview and detail the key points of the bankruptcy petition preparation software product that you selected.  Consider its value to Peg, if any.  Do not copy from the software's website or any others; provide your own personal critical thinking analysis.
  •  Explain why you selected the software product that you did.
    • Go to the website of your selected software product to examine it in more detail.  If the website has a free tutorial or online demo, then give it a try if you would like.
    • Within your report, explain what you learned from this website, especially about the software product's purpose and functions as they may relate to Peg (and the firm's other bankruptcy clients) and the law firm itself.  Consider its features, as well as your own experience with it, if you used a free demo.
    • Conduct your own follow up research (either in the library or through the internet) as part of your analysis here.  Discuss why you went in that direction, including what you hoped to learn and how you sought unbiased information (or counter-balanced the bias that you noticed).
    • Based on your research, analysis and practice with this software product, provide your opinion as to whether Peg might benefit from being able to use this product, as well as your perception of their user-friendliness.
