Question:
Today, I am presented with the case of Jared. A 5-year-old in kindergarten. When the child is frustrated, he becomes very angry, curses, and hits the teachers and other students. Recently he has had 2 occurrences in the classroom where he threw chairs across the room. After the incidences the child becomes remorseful for his actions.I learned that the family recently had a new baby 4 months ago, the father recently returned from military service and is suffering from PTSD and Intimate partner violence towards his wife. The client Jared is witnessing these abnormal behaviors frequently.
In creating a case conceptualization for this case what are the interfering factors and barriers that must be considered?
Are there any protective factors or signs of resilience that I should look for in this case?
What factors are important due to the child's age when creating a case conceptualization? Could this be temporary or signs of a more extensive problem?
Any other concerns?
