Transactions in the prescribed accounting period from 1 April 2022 to 30 June 2022 Unless otherwise stated, the following transactions were concluded with GST-registered businesses in Singapore, denominated in Singapore Dollars, and recorded in amounts exclusive of GST at the prevailing rate, where applicable.
(1) 1 April 2022 - Deposited a cheque of $1,766.57, which was received in settlement of an invoice issued to one of Ms. XYZ’s individual customers on 14 March 2022, with the Malayan Banking Berhad, Singapore Branch.
(2) 7 April 2022 - Purchased coriander, dried chili, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, lime leaf, onion, shallot, star anise, and turmeric for $52.30 from a stall (at Bendemeer Market) that was not GST-registered in preparation for a Peranakan feast (see transaction 4).
(3) 13 April 2022 - Bought an air ticket from Singapore Airlines at $1,647.00 (inclusive of GST, where applicable) for a round trip to Sydney, Australia, to source the freshest rock lobsters as requested by one of Ms. XYZ’s individual customers (see transaction 9).
(4) 19 April 2022 - Billed one of Ms. XYZ’s regular individual customers $1,200.00 (before a customary 20% discount applies to all regular customers) for a Peranakan feast prepared for a group of 10 persons who flew in from various parts of the world.
(5) 25 April 2022 - Refunded $214.00 (inclusive of GST, where applicable) to one of Ms XYZ’s individual customers who was inadvertently overcharged for his Valentine’s Day dinner for two persons on 14 February 2022.
(6) 30 April 2022 - Imported 20 kilograms of rock lobsters from Sydney, Australia, at the price of $45.00 per kilogram, with insurance charged at 8% of the total price and freight charged at 10% of the total price.
(7) 1 May 2022 - Received interest at 1.2% per annum on a principal sum of $10,000.00 from a fixed deposit account with the Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited after a tenure of 15 months upon maturity.
(8) 9 May 2022 - Imported another 10 kilograms of rock lobsters from Sydney, Australia, at the cost, insurance, and freight value of A$557.55 (the exchange rate published by the MAS was $1:A$1.05, while the exchange rate published by Yahoo! Finance was $1:A$1.08).
(9) 17 May 2022 - Charged one of Ms. XYZ’s individual customers $3,111.60 for a rock lobster feast prepared with ingredients that were imported from Sydney, Australia, on 30 April 2022 and 9 May 2022 (see transactions 6 and 8). (10) 25 May 2022 - Traded in Ms. XYZ’s old cooking equipment valued at $100.00 for new cooking equipment valued at $2,500.00 with Harvey Norman (at Millenia Walk), as part of their promotion held in conjunction with their anniversary celebrations.
(11) 31 May 2022 - Rented a commercial kitchen for eight hours at $120 per hour from a Chinese food caterer to test out various recipes in preparation for a change in the menu in the fourth quarter of 2022.
(12) 3 June 2022 - Stocked up fish fillet, prawn, squid, scallop, wagyu beef steak, and kurobuta pork collar steak valued at $1,225.00 from a local supermarket in preparation for 20 portions of surf and turf (see transaction 13).
(13) 9 June 2022 - Invoiced one of Ms. XYZ’s corporate customers $2,450 for 20 portions of surf and turf ordered as part of a start-up’s annual dinner and dance party held at the corporate customer’s premises (at Changi Business Park).
(14) 15 June 2022 - Paid Mr. ABC $26.75 as repayment of petrol costs and GST incurred when he delivered the 20 portions of surf and turf to the corporate customer’s premises (at Changi Business Park) using his Mazda CX 3 (see transaction 13).
(15) 21 June 2022 - Collected $500 from one of Ms. XYZ’s potential individual customers for the sampling of her dishes (to build customer goodwill and a long-term business relationship, Ms. XYZ agreed to absorb GST, where applicable).
(16) 27 June 2022 - Ordered an Apple Watch (starlight aluminum case with braided solo loop), paid $679.00 (inclusive of GST, where applicable), and gifted it to a part-time kitchen helper (see Transaction 17).
(17) 30 June 2022 - Paid $750 to a part-time kitchen helper who was employed on a contractual basis on 1 April 2022 to assist Ms. XYZ with the preparation of ingredients for various private dining engagements.
(18) 1 July 2022 - Received cash of $1,200 in total according to an invoice issued on 30 June 2022 as partial payment for a birthday celebration to be held on National Day in August, which Ms. XYZ is prepared to refund if the celebration is subsequently canceled.
