Una is looking to buy a large family home and views a luxury house that has solar
Question:
Una is looking to buy a large family home and views a luxury house that has solar panels installed, a large pool and lots of electrical appliances in the house (such as centralised heating, mechanical blinds and additional lights). The owner, Paula, tells Una that "the solar panels take care of the electricity bill -it takes care of the costs of the pool heating, centralised heating and operating the various gadgets around the house". Una is very environmental friendly, and likes the fact that there are solar panels in the house. Una signs a contract for $4,500,000 to purchase the house. After signing the contract, Una learns that Paula did not tell her that the solar panels were not compliant. Further, the local council had issued a notice requiring rectification of the solar panels failing which a heavy fine will be imposed. The pool's heating elements are broken, and the electricity generated by the solar panels is only sufficient to cover the pool's heating or centralised heating system, but not both. Una is very distressed.
