I believe that the sports information job is more appealing. The sports information job is essentially the "PR group for the athletic department". A sports information job requires you to organize the team, create news releases, create game programs, organize media day, travel with the team, and interact with the student athletes. In the sports information job, you get to interact with the athletes and build relationships with them.
A sports journalist's job is a more serious job which requires a journalism degree. They are responsible for writing the story, covering the game, taking the pictures, developing the film, and laying out the pages for print. This job requires a lot more effort and skill. Some skills that are needed are essential writing skills, curiosity, and being good at typing. Being a sports journalist requires a lot of hard work and effort.
