Discussion Questions Contract law has evolved over time from a set of formal rules established through our common or judge made law, to a set of more fluid statutory laws called the UCC. The UCC (adopted by all 50 states) now governs a quickly flowing market of contracted for goods. One might expect this evolution in a market based economy that relies on the transfer of goods and services as an organizing principle. Interestingly, under the UCC, the court can even fill in some gaps that may appear in an agreement. 1. It what ways does this more modern approach, typified by the UCC, facilitate the efficient buying and selling of goods? How so, or how not? 2. How does does a more fluid, higher volume, more commercial market for goods affect us as consumers? The environment? Poor people? Small business?
