We have designed some tasks to exercise your ability to support the on-course team to deliver an excellent residential experience for our students. Please come to the interview prepared to discuss your work and the reasoning behind your decisions. Further information about courses is available on our website. Feel free to make any simplifying assumptions you need and make a note of these for discussion. Good luck! Planning: Organisation task (30 mins) You are planning a day trip for 100 9 - 12 year olds who are studying on our course at Harrow School. The trip is part of the course's social and cultural programme. There will also be 12 staff accompanying the children. Your task involves: 1. Choosing an appropriate site for the day trip. 2. Putting together a detailed, appropriate agenda for the day which can be easily communicated and understood by on-course staff who will be accompanying the students. 3. Creating a list of what needs to be prepared and/or implemented before, during and after the day trip, including (but not limited to) transport, communications, and health and safety and safeguarding measures. 4. Any other points of importance you think should apply. Delivery: Prioritisation task (10 mins) It's Tuesday morning during course delivery and you have the following tasks in front of you. Order them in terms of priority and consider how you would approach them. 1. A Course Director has rung you to say that one of the staff has been making inappropriate comments to the students at breakfast. 2. A parent has contacted you to say that they are worried their child isn't taking their prescribed medication. 3. A tutor has rung the CD to say that, due to personal circumstances, they will be unable to teach for the rest of the week. 4. The on-course team have commented on how difficult it is for them to find information relating to their course in Google Drive. 5. The College has contacted you to say that, due to building works, they cannot offer a room for movie night on Thursday. 6. You need to pack a kit box for a course starting on Sunday (include the sorts of things you think should be in the box). 7. 4 students, who came on the course together, are complaining that they are housed on different floors and want to move. 8. 2 members of staff have called in sick and now the team is 1 person short for the day trip tomorrow.
