Week 1: Mind Map - History and Theories of Management During this course, you will complete two mind mapping assignments. To prepare for these assignments, read: • What is Mind Mapping? You can complete your Mind Maps for the two assignments by hand or use the free online mind mapping software suggested below. The software is typically very quick to learn. Online Mind Mapping Software: Coggle Wise Mapping Assignment Instructions: Learning Management history and its underlying theories will help you to understand the foundations for the practices of modern management. Chapter 2 reading: This first mind mapping assignment is designed to help you recognize and understand the key points from the "History and Theories of Management," which are discussed in Chapter 2 of the course textbook. There are 2 parts to this assignment, the Mind Map and the Mind Map analysis. ● Part 1 Mind Map, at the center of your Map should be: History and Theories of Management. Then for the first level (branch), select a minimum of eight key terms around these. Then carry your Map out to 4-5 additional levels for each. Be sure to include the concepts, theories, and influencers as discussed in your textbook. The map should clearly demonstrate your understanding of how far management theories have come as well as critical analysis of your reading materials. Part 2 Mind Map Analysis, you will be summarizing the research conducted in developing the Mind Map. You will submit the mind map and the analysis as either two files or you can embed the mind map into a word document and include the mind map analysis. Part 1 Mind map: . At the center of your Map should be: History and Theories of Management (can either be put in a branch or combined then branched out to each specific area) . Under the appropriate branch map out: o History - applicable terminology, significant events, and contributors o Theories of Management - specify the various theories, add applicable terminology, key features of each theory, -11tiit.
