We're all aware of the power of first impressions when meeting people (think lst dates and job interviews). This power of first impressions certainly applies to public speaking as well. Having a great introduction sets the tone for your speech. As you learned in this module, an introduction must accomplish 5 things:
1. capture favorable attention from the audience
2. give the audience a reason to listen to the rest of your speech
3. introduce the topic
4. establish yourself as a credible source of information
5. preview your main points. In the introductions below, one or more of these 5 crucial functions of introductions is missing.
