What is your metaphor? Why? You will describe it to us and explain how it works. Then tell us where/How do these examples of cultural products fit into your model? Harry Potter Books Harry Potter Movies Swan Lake (Ballet) Drake Madame Butterfly (opera) . Game of Thrones Jimmy Kimmel The Fast and the Furious Kim Kardashian 1 more media product of your own choosing please do it as an image format example below but do not copy idea. My metaphor to describe culture is a tree. The roots are the most important part, they nourish the overall tree, so they are the cultural products that require some education and training to appreciate: Like Swan Lake (Ballet) or Madame Butterfly (opera) The trunk is the part of the tree that holds everything together. It's strong and reliable. It's the mainstream more lasting/classic parts of media that most of us in our culture share-like the Harry Potter books and Movies, or Game of Thrones TV show. The leaves are abundant but temporary-so they represent the more trendy forms of media that change rapidly like Drake, Jimmy Kimmel, or The Fast and the Furious. The leaves that fall on the ground for anyone to pick up, or walk on, or rake up and burn. They don't matter much anymore. Examples of that are things like Kim Kardashian and Honey Boo Boo. This process was kind of hard for me. I realized how challenging it must be to write/research something like culture, when you can't even really describe it clearly in a way that most people will agree on. What is your metaphor? Why?
