what would you reply or respond to this discussion?
For this week's discussion, I am going to focus on variables involving a psychiatric patient's compliance with medication and the relationship their compliance has with the number of behaviors they exhibit. In this situation, the independent variable is the compliance with medication. The dependent variable is the number of behaviors exhibited. Because the number of behaviors exhibited is affected by how routinely they take their medication, it is the dependent variable. The frequency that a patient is complaint with medication is the independent variable, as it is the variable that is able to be controlled. I predict an inverse relationship between these two variables. I think that because I suspect that as the frequency of compliance with medication increases the frequency of behaviors exhibited will decrease. As far as the strength of the relationships goes, depends on the individual. With particular example, it is difficult to predict the frequency of some one's behaviors since the frequency of behaviors can also be affected by what particular medication is being administered, the dose of said medication, and the frequency in which it is supposed to be taken. Assuming that the medication is working the way it is supposed to, I would anticipate a strong negative correlation. As mentioned before, I think as the medication compliance increased, there would be a direct correlation of a decrease in behaviors.
