When responding to your peers, discuss whether or not you agree with your peers' rationale. What additional recommendations do you have that would improve the local business's use of digital media? What mobile strategies could be implemented?

 

1) The local business that I chose is Sugar Stems by Candi. This small business specializes in luxury hand designed crystal glasses. They are personalized and made to order. The glasses are described as women that drape the wine glass with a crystal glass gown that is a depiction of the consumer. The consumer also picks the color of the glass and crystals. Sugar Stems by Candi can also be found at local festivals such as whine or jazz festivals. The social media they use to enhance their online presence are Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok. Their social media is still growing but uses photos, reels and lives, to showcase their festival locations, glasses and customer reactions and reviews. Their strategy has created a buzz and word of mouth that has gained them clientele.

 

2) The small business that I am choosing is actually that place I currently work at. It's called Croxley's Ale House. It's a restaurant and sports bar. Currently, the business has Facebook and Instagram and they post often about specials they are having as well as big sporting events. We are in NY so there was a lot going on recently with the Rangers, Islanders, Nets and Knicks in the playoffs. The company would always post about the teams in the playoffs and to stop by to watch the game. When football season is under way, the restaurant is packed on Sundays. I feel these strategies are good because it promotes the place as somewhere to go for big sporting events. A recommendation I would have is to add in another social media platform like TikTok. This is because with TikTok, you can create funny and entertaining short videos that grab people's attention. It will also draw in a younger crowd. The TikTok videos could also then be reposted on Instagram and Facebook for the older crowd as well.
