When you and I buy shares of a stock in the secondary market, that money does not
Question:
When you and I buy shares of a stock in the secondary market, that money does not go to the company itself. If secondary market trading does not directly fund a company itself, what is your take on buying Russian stocks or bonds right now?
If we buy shares of Russian stocks and bonds now, that investment does not go to Russia or to the Russian companies that issued the stocks or bonds. Do you think it is unpatriotic to purchase Russian stocks and bonds right now? Why? Regardless of your answer to this questions, and from an investment perspective only, do you think it is a good time to buy Russian stocks and bonds (i.e., do you think the Russian economy will one day recover)?
