Question:
Who owes who what? Taking into account ALL facts?
Chris and Sam are both in 8th grade and they live in a very small farming community. They are walking down a dirt road on the way to a new fishing spot. They have heard about this spot but have never been. They each have their rod and reels, a bottle of water, a sandwich, and a dollar. Old man Rufus who is hard of hearing, is driving along the road in his rusted-out pickup on his way to the glue factory with a dead horse. Chris says to Sam. " I bet you my dollar that Rufus will give us a ride". Sam takes Chris up on the bet. Rufus gets closer and Chris lays down in the middle of road. Rufus knows that Chris is always up to tricks. So, Rufus stops. Rufus tells Chris that he will give the boys each a ride and tell them what to use for bait, for a dollar a each. The boys say nothing hop in the truck. As they drive along, the dead horse starts to smell. Rufus tells the boys to use grasshoppers for bait. The horse is an unbearable stench. Because of the stench the boys ask to be let out. Rufus continues to drive until they get to the fishing spot. Rufus asks for the money. Sam crabs Chris's sandwich and throws into the cab of truck. He tells Rufus. "that's all we are going to pay".
