My internship, Access Family Services (AFS), most definitely has a set of guidelines we need to follow. Working with children, especially foster children. That being said my supervisor is the new supervisor of the organization. She just got promoted right before I got there, so I was her first official intern, even though there have been many interns there and she worked with all of them before. AFS is very task-oriented, working with foster children can be difficult at times but if we can stay on task it makes working with them easier. The children, all children really, like to test the boundaries. so working as a team can help keep all of us accountable and honest. I do kind of see the leadership there and they try to make sure I am involved with the children and sitting in with the CCA but for the most part, all I do is input all the information of the child in the computer. I know my supervisor listens to everyone and is doing the best she can but I do not think she has the best of leadership skill. I like the idea in the video...a leadership book study as an organization.
