Worldly is planning the introduction of a new product in three different regions. Today's estimates indicate that the product will sell well in the different regions with the following probabilities: 0.6, 0.5 and 0.3 respectively. The firm has two available high-level sales agents that can be sent to any of the three regions to work in the product's introduction. The estimated probabilities that the product will sell well in each of the regions when 0, 1 or 2 agents are allocated to the respective regions are given in the following table: Probability that the product sells well Region Number of sales 1 2 3 agents allocated 0.6 0.5 0.3 0.8 0.7 0.55 2 0.85 0.85 0.7 Use dynamic programming to determine the number of agents that have to be allocated to regions to maximize the probability that Worldly's product sells well.
