Overarching Goal: To develop a research paper based on a selected juvenile justice topic of interest. In order to accomplish this you will 1) select a juvenile justice topic of interest, 2) identify related peer reviewed articles, 3) develop an annotated bibliography and 4) craft a research paper outline.

Step 1: In order to select a juvenile justice topic of interest, examine the textbook, lessons and syllabus to discover different areas of juvenile justice that are 1) related to the course, 2) deemed a current national priority, and/ or 3) of clear interest to you. Then, create a document similar to the example below, explaining your major topic of interest and some sub-topic areas.

Research Topic: Family relations and delinquent behavior. Criminologists consider family relationships a key determinant of behavior.
