You have to identify one specific resource at the Engineering cafeteria at BAU-Debbieh. This resource must have at least four states that the resource status at work may hop between. For example, The espresso coffee machine may provide different kinds of servings as well as being idle during working hours. The Chef may be preparing different kinds of sandwiches as well as being idle himself. The SAB heater may be used for a certain number of sandwiches at given moments of times or just empty. Etc.. Once you decided, prepare a pre-assignment short proposal and present it for discussion with me for final approval and/or guidance before or on Thursday 21 October 2018. Failing to do this step will force you to continue the assignment on your own with all the risks it may take. The following are the requirements of the assignment after you get approval about the case you want to work on. Requirements: 1- (10 points) Identify the case in detail and identify the states you will have to observe in order to develop the state transition probabilities for the Markov Chain. 2- (10 points) Observe your resource over an ample period of time where you have to record the transitions between the various states that you have identified in step 1. Your records should look like this: state1, state2, state1, state3, state4, state2, state4, state3, state1, state3........... This sequence must include exactly 100 jumps. 3- (10 points) Based on the data that you have collected in step 2, summarize the number of jumps in a transition count matrix. 4- (10 points) Compute the transition probabilities among the various states. 5- (10 points) Identify at least four objectives for your analysis. You may simply generate realistic questions relevant to your case and that make proper sense as one's objectives. 6- (30 points) Make all computations that are necessary to attain your objectives and/or answer your objective questions. 7- (20 points) Write down a report of all the work you have done, including the part of identifying the case you wanted to work with.
