Question:
Your company wants to start marketing widgets in India. The boss sent out a memo to all 125 employees looking for ideas on what to do first and to forward those ideas onto him in an e-mail. You have an idea! We should put together some employee teams to brainstorm first and come up with a working model for marketing those widgets to India! Use the Rough Draft of a Letter Document Format you see right after page 298 (or close depending on your edition) in the text. Write a concise (no more than 200 words) letter to convince the boss of your Team idea. Use at least 4 bullets like you see in the sample letter. (Notice that not all points in the bullets are complete sentences. That's fine.) Be creative! You can come up with fictitious scenarios to help support your team idea proposal. For example, you might mention the problems and confusion that occurred when the company started marketing widgets to Europe (or wherever). Team meetings would help solve problems like that and get a consensus on the project before the problems occur. And be specific. Don’t just say… Get the entire team actively involved in pushing the marketing initiative along. Be creative. How about something like… Divide the 15 employee team into 3 groups of 5 with Raj and Amina in different groups since they're from India and could add relevant feedback.
