It is in the location of your choice (in Toronto or anywhere around the world) and it offers the range of services that you wish to offer (within the realm of what a typical Retirement Community should offer) as appropriate for your targeted audience. You will be launching your new marketing campaign for this property. You will present either a double-page flyer/advertisement that would entice your targeted seniors and their families to choose your community."
This assignment is a group research project and a creative exercise. The first portion of the assignment requires you to conduct research to help you make your decisions about what kind of facility you will be marketing.
SECTION ONE - three page summary of the research that you have done that lead to your decisions around what services and facilities will be in your group's retirement community. These services and facilities should be appropriate for your targeted senior.
- Firstly your group will need to conduct research into different existing retirement community companies and types of offerings to better understand the facilities that could (or must) be included in a community and the types of services that are required, depending on the clients you have chosen to target. Research from our WIKI assignment could be helpful to get you started. By understanding the level of services offered and facilities built, as it relates to targeted residents, you will show that you understand your market.
- It's not necessary that you tell me specifically about these researched facilities - but as you cite facilities or services as being required in YOUR facility, you will use in-text citations to show me where these ideas came from.
- Depending on where you choose to locate your facility, you will need to consider the local market and how your offerings may differ based on the culture, the location or whatever else you think is relevant.
- Think about the facility that you would build, the departments that will be required to run your operation - these considerations could all draw on courses that you have previously studied.
- The focus of the summary should be on the facility that you are "creating" within your group.

SECTION TWO: EITHER a two-page marketing flyer promoting your community to your targeted market - promote your created community to your targeted market. Some things to consider in this portion of the project:
If you are creating a flyer, it can be a double sided 8.5x11 sheet or a tri-fold pamphlet of the same size. Your flyer should be professional using appropriate graphics and including information to attract your chosen demographic and their family
