Surveys around the world often try to measure the happiness of the residents of each country. Americans are typically near the middle. The General Social Survey asked respondents “Taken altogether, how would you say things are these days would you say you were (HAPPY) 1 = Very happy, 2 = Pretty happy, 3 = Not too happy” Is there sufficient evidence to infer that more than three quarters of the population is very or pretty happy?
