The Shorewood Community Center runs a substance abuse counseling program. Over the course of the 8-week program, clients are expected to attend three counseling sessions per week. Because attendance ultimately affects whether clients succeed, the director of the program would like to obtain a better understanding of why some clients attend more than others. Th e director asks her research intern to run a regression on the available data for the most recent group of clients (n = 75) who started (but did not necessarily complete) the program. Days attended is the dependent variable (ATTEND). The independent variables include the following:

REFERRAL = A dummy variable for whether the client was referred by the criminal justice system (coded 1 if yes, 0 if not).

AGE = Age of client (in years)
